Mrs. Leota Pearl Richards, mother of classmate Bill Richards, died on Monday, June 4, 2018, at her home in Iuka in the care of her children.

She was born May 10, 1927, in Iuka, daughter of William Roscoe and Minnie Mae (Jourdan) Bartley. She married Junious Ernie Richards on June 3, 1945, in Iuka, and he preceded her in death on Feb. 3, 2013.

Mrs. Richards is survived by her children, William R. “Bill” Richards of Iuka and JoAnn Ratcliff and husband John of Homestead, Florida; nieces Donna Crundwell of Marion and Jeannie Baker and husband Jim of Altamont; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Vera Boyles.

Mrs. Richards was a homemaker and a former employee of the Brown Shoe Company in Salem. She was a member of the Iuka General Baptist Church.

Services will be held at 11 a. m. on Wednesday at Rankin Funeral Home in Salem. Interment will follow at the Iuka Cemetery.

Friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 a. m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.
