Thelma Brown, 65, passed away at the Hernando Hospice Home in Spring Hill, Florida, on August 27, 2015.  She was born in Salem, Illinois, and was the daughter of Cortes and Hazel (Powless) Brown.  She attended grade and high school in Salem, graduating in the SCHS Class of 1968 which was one of the highlights of her life as she often mentioned.

Thelma moved to Rushville, Indiana, with her parents and brother, "Joe", living with them until her parents were deceased. She then lived with her uncle and aunt, Willie and Doris Roe, who lived in Manila, Indiana.  She moved with them to Weeki Wachee, Florida, in 1976.
