Obituary for Mrs. Pamela J. Gooden

Pamela June Sill Gooden, age 66, of Ferguson MO passed away Friday January 6, 2017 at 2:30 PM. Pam was born April 24, 1950 in Centralia, Il to Ralph L. and Geraldine Robertson Sill. She married Dan Gooden, her beloved husband of 44 years on December 6, 1972.
Pam graduated from Salem High School in 1968. She was retired from a long career in the work force which started at the age of 15 as a car-hop at Carl’s Drive-In in Salem Il. She also worked for Brown Shoe Co. in Salem and for a few years owned her own restaurant, Pam’s Café. In 1984 the Gooden’s relocated to Maumelle Ark. where she worked for Circle K, Wild River Country, and Omnicare. In 1987 Pam and her family relocated again to Ferguson, MO where she continued her career with Omnicare (Spanish Lake Nursing Center), Parkside Towers Nursing Home and eventually retiring from Mediplex. Pam started her 30-year nursing home career as activities director where she touched the hearts of all the elderly patients under her care. Her dedication to the nursing home community quickly led her to be a valued asset in Medical Records management where she spent most of her years leading up to retirement.
Pam is survived by her husband Dan of Ferguson, Son Michael & his wife Deborah of Salem Il and Son Troy & his wife Kim of Luling La., 4 grandchildren, Seth and Paige of Salem and Emily and Kristen of Luling La., brother Terry and wife Tracy Sill of Centralia, sister Judith and husband David Winkler of Salem Il., and 23 nieces and nephews.
Arrangements by Buchholz Mortuary, 619 Rue St. Francois Street, Florissant, MO. 63031. Visitation is 6:00 pm until 7:00 pm Monday January 9, 2017 and services at 7 pm same day.

John W. Gordon, 40, of Iuka, died Thursday, July 14, 1988, at Salem Township Hospital.
He was born in Iuka on July 18, 1948, son of Artie Louis and Mary Viola (Eagan) Gordon.  Survivors included his mother, Mary Gordon of Iuka; seven brothers, James Gordon, Arthur Gordon, Carl Gordon, and Floyd Gordon, all of Iuka, Glen Gordon and Robert Gordon, both of Salem, and Harrison Gordon of Lowell, Ind.; and a sister, Mildred Weems of Earley, Texas.
Mr. Gordon was a self-employed auto mechanic, and was a member of the Bell Baptist Church.
Funeral services were held Sunday, July 17, 1988, at the Rankin Iuka Chapel with Brother Cecil Fuson officiating.  Burial was in the Iuka Cemetery.
